Catalog description

Themes and techniques of Hispanic literature. Vocabulary in Spanish for discussion of a variety of literary genres. Narratives grounded in historical, racial, and cultural contexts from throughout the Spanish-speaking locales in the United States. Emphasis on increasing oral and written fluency in Spanish. Typically appropriate for students who have taken 4 years of H.S. Spanish or SPAN 202 . The Department highly recommends taking SPAN 227 before SPAN-229. Prerequisite: Spanish Placement Test or SPAN-202 .
