Catalog description

Fluid dynamics and heat transfer applied to plastics processing. Plastic flow behavior as a non-Newtonian fluid with shear heating. Effects of operating conditions and mold/die design on filling behavior, cooling rates, and part characteristics. Finite difference and iterative calculations employed with comparison to fluid flow simulation software. Prerequisites: take ENGR-275 , ENGR 391 , and PLE-340 or concurrent enrollment
