Essential elements of statics. Includes coplanar and non-coplanar force systems, free-body diagrams, equilibrium conditions, distributed loads, trusses and frames, method of joints, method of sections, force of inertia, and moment of inertia of an area. Sustainability issues for built structures infused throughout. This includes energy use, construction materials, climate change, and renewable energies. Math Placement Level 4 or MATH 121
