Explores the business of sports licensing and merchandising, focusing on how leagues, teams, athletes, licensors, agencies, third parties, and merchandisers create value through intellectual property, brand extensions, collectibles, events, and merchandise. Students will learn about licensing contracts, retail strategies, global markets, legal issues, and fan psychology, culminating in a group project developing a licensing/merchandising plan.
