Topics focus on algebraic reasoning and number theory concepts. Content includes proportional reasoning, linear and non-linear functions, analytic geometry, elementary proof techniques, divisibility, primes, composites, special number sets, and basic counting principles. Viewpoints and trends in teaching middle school mathematics with instruction planning, and evaluation issues. Implications of research related to organization, content, and techniques for teaching grade 5-9 mathematics. Includes clinical experiences.
