Overview of wildland fire management and history in the U.S., with discussions on wildfire prevention, mitigation, suppression, and prescribed fire. Fire ecology and fire effects in temperate forests will be a primary focus in combination with techniques for planning, conducting, and evaluating prescribed fires.
