Catalog description

Understand, analyze, and apply the administrative, legal, educational, and advocacy issues involved in coordinating district-level gifted and talented education programming. Develop a practicum project in district while working with an experienced gifted program coordinator or school administrator. Projects developed in the context of larger educational movements, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, diversity and multiculturalism, and standardized assessment. Final course in a sequence that will lead to a UWSP Gifted Program Coordinator Certificate. Includes an embedded program coordinator practicum experience in the student’s own school district. This course is part of a service-based pricing program. Special tuition will apply for students enrolling in this course.
