Sociology of Human Sexuality

Catalog description

This course begins from a sociological recognition that sex and sexuality are cultural universal topics that are important to study. This recognition further leads to the view that human sexuality is a social behavior, done in a social context, that is influenced both by biology and culture. The course focuses on the topics of sex and gender socialization, sexual expression, sex and social control, and other social issues that are related to sex and sexuality. Prerequisites: Sophomore status, SOCI 100 or ANTH 100, or Consent of Instructor. (As offered.)
