Catalog description

This course studies techniques for identifying and working with preliterate students from all age groups. It also offers techniques for improving reading skills, content area reading, and the ability to comprehend and use academic vocabulary. In addition, the course contains units on critical reading and the creation of materials for ESOL reading instruction for different purposes, genres, and ability levels. Prerequisite--admission to TESOL graduate program. (F)
