Catalog description

Under the direction of a university instructor, classroom teachers will reflect on their teaching practice through online and in-person discussions with the instructor and other participants. Participants will be guided in relating educational theory to their evolving classroom practice and pedagogical content knowledge. Participants will be required to design and implement an action research project or a professional development plan. This course is designed for classroom teachers with up to five years of experience. No more than 3 graduate credits awarded for completion of this course may be included in a master's degree. Prerequisites: Currently employed by a school district; valid teaching license. Instructor/chair consent is required. (F, Sp)
