Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the profession; philosophy, history, and scientific areas; and examination of career opportunities. Emphasis will be placed on effective teaching strategies, basics of classroom management, discipline theory and practices, inclusion activities and educational technology applications. Students participate in lecture and laboratory experiences to gain and practice skills in teaching secondary physical education. Field experience required (25 hours). Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education.(F)
