Differentiating and Managing the Culturally Responsive Classroom

Catalog description
This course will prepare teacher candidates to plan, implement, and evaluate student learning with a focus on pedagogical methods for supporting diverse learners in the PreK-9 classroom. Emphasis will be on ways to differentiate curricula for students in a culturally responsive classroom, including but not limited to English Learners, struggling learners, gifted learners, and any student identified as having special needs in an individual education plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. Field experience required: (50 hours). Concurrent enrollment in TED 311 and 314 is required. Prerequisites: TED 250 and SPED 330. Admission to Tier 2 or departmental consent. (F, Sp)
