Catalog description

This course will prepare teacher candidates to teach PreK-9 math in ways that address the needs of all learners. Emphasis will be placed on using mathematical representations and technology as resources to help learners make sense of mathematical concepts, reason mathematically, and effectively communicate their mathematical thinking. Teacher candidates will prepare, teach, and reflect on facilitating interactive, hand-on mathematics lessons and instructional routines within a field experience. Field experience required: (50 hours). Concurrent enrollment in TED 312 and TED 313 is required. Prerequisites: MATH 246 and MATH 247. Admission to Tier 2 or departmental consent. (F, Sp)
