Literacy 3: Assessing and Differentiating Literacy Instruction in Diverse Classrooms

Catalog description
This course builds on teacher candidates¿ previous knowledge of literacy teaching and learning for diverse PreK-9 learners. Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of major components of reading, writing, and language development and instruction, especially for students with learning differences. Candidates will work with individual and/or small groups of students to assess literacy progress and plan, modify, and implement learning experiences based on individual strengths and needs within a field experience. Field experience required: (50 hours). Concurrent enrollment in TED 311 and TED 318 is required. Prerequisites: Admission to Tier 2 or departmental consent. (F, Sp)
