Early Childhood Assessment & Intervention

Catalog description

This course addresses school-based early childhood assessment and intervention knowledge and skill development. A variety of assessment techniques will be covered (e.g., developmental checklists, standardized cognitive measures, autism spectrum disorder measures, visual-motor skills measures, adaptive behavior assessments, parent and caregiver interview techniques, play assessment, observational methods). Connecting assessment data to evidence-informed practices in schools and culturally-competent practices are important emphases in this class. (SS)
