Catalog description

This is a survey course examining the general aspects of students with special needs. Emphasis centers on the historical and legislative issues, definitions, eligibility, criteria, and characteristics of exceptional individuals, models for delivery of services, individualized education programs, and examples of accommodative techniques in the classroom and home. Field experience required (10 hours).Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA, sophomore standing, TED 100 or 155 or CSD 275, PED 161, AGED 201
