Catalog description

This is a senior level theory and practice course designed to explore and develop the knowledge and skills used by social workers to engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate practice in acute human helping contexts. A major focus is on the theory and knowledge development of understanding the description, etiology, and treatment of mental disorders, including trauma-informed perspectives. Diagnosis, and assessment, and psycho-pharmacology within the DSM framework and a generalist perspective is addressed. Prerequisites: SOWK 325, concurrent registration with SOWK 472. (F)
