Catalog description
Students in this course will learn the theoretical frameworks, knowledge, and skills necessary to engage in culturally competent social work practice. The course will prepare students for generalist practice, including the engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation of work with clients from diverse populations. Course content will cover issues related to diversity, privilege, oppression, intersectionality, and social justice, as well as topics such as class, race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, and sexual orientation.
