Catalog description

This course addresses the timely and wide-ranging topic of the built environment, including community design and energy use. Students learn how the design of communities and buildings affects organizations and their employees, as well as the broader community, and planet. Concepts and tools for understanding the built environment, community development, and energy for the future are introduced. The purpose of this course is to expose students to energy and the built environment. Topics covered include recent energy trends, community issues and policy, resource management, scope, risk analysis, and facility controls.
