Physiological Psychology

Catalog description

This course is designed to provide a working knowledge of the brain and nervous system at the level of its structure and function and how brain processes relate to human and animal behavior. In this course, we will examine the cellular basis of behavior, emphasizing contemporary views and approaches to the study of the nervous system. Students will learn brain anatomy and physiology, and study brain function and its relationship to psychological constructs and behaviors such as sensory and motor functions, learning and memory, cognition and other basic behaviors. Prerequisite: PSYC 101 and one of the following statistics courses: PSYC 201, MATH 216, MATH 226, ECON 226, MATH 231; or permission of instructor (F, SP)
