Developmental Psychology: Childhood & Adolescence

Catalog description

This course explores research and theory in developmental psychology from conception through adolescence. Key topics include: prenatal development and birth, cognitive development, language development, identity, parenting, social development, and the ways in which development is shaped by culture, gender, ethnicity, and social class. Consideration is given to the implications and application of theory and research to real life. Prerequisite: PSYC 101 and one of the following statistics courses: PSYC 201, MATH 216, MATH 226, ECON 226, MATH 231; or permission of instructor (F,SP)
