Catalog description

This course examines topics related to the political, economic, social, and cultural context of the developing world¿mostly countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Students will discuss various historical and contemporary issues concerning developing countries, such as colonialism, economic development, ethnic conflict, political leadership, etc. In addition, the relationship between developing countries and advanced industrialized countries in the context of globalization will be explored.
