Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the concepts and mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics. The primary emphasis is on detailed exploration of one-dimensional quantum mechanics using wave mechanics and Dirac notation. The course may include hands-on activities to allow students to test fundamental behaviors of quantum physics. Prerequisites: PHYS 264, 361 (or CHEM 342), MATH 256 and 331. (F, alternate years).
