Catalog description

This course covers the statistical treatment of experimental data and Fourier analysis. Topics covered include: mean, variance, standard error, uncertainty analysis, the chi-squared test, least squares fitting, Fourier integral transforms, the Fast Fourier transform, and the application of these concepts to physical problems. Students taking PHYS 204 are required to take PHYS 362. Prerequisites: PHYS 122 or 132, PHYS 211 or CSIS 162 and MATH 167.(Sp)
