Catalog description

This hands-on course will engage students in collaborative groups, building and operating astrophysical detectors of increasing sophistication, with one lab and one lecture per week. We will explore the origin and evolution of the entire universe, from the first instant to the formation of enormous galaxy clusters seen today. Prerequisites: PHYS 117 and MATH 146(or higher) or PHYS 122 or PHYS 132 or consent of instructor. (Sp., alternate years)
