Catalog description

This course provides an understanding of equilibrium and the ability to analyze forces and moments. Topics covered include force and moment vectors, resultants, principles of statics, applications to trusses, frames and machines, method of joints, method of sections, distributed loads, internal forces and moments, centroids, moments of inertia of area, and friction. Prerequisites: PHYS 131, MATH 166. Co- or prerequisite MATH 167. (F)
