Catalog description

This course provides an overview of both typical and atypical neurodevelopment across the lifespan. You will learn about major milestones in brain and behavioral development from the embryonic stage through adulthood, including the influence of biology, genetics, and the environment on these processes. Neurodevelopmental disorders such as cerebral palsy, childhood-onset epilepsy, and autism spectrum disorders will be addressed in this course. This course will also provide a neurodevelopmental perspective on conditions with adolescent and adult symptom onset. Prerequisites: NSCI 111 or BIOL 150 or BIOL 160; One of the following statistics courses: PSYC 201, MATH 216, MATH 226, ECON 226, MATH 231; or permission of instructor. (As offered)
