Catalog description

A course for in-service middle and high school teachers interested in using emerging technologies in the mathematics classroom. Interactive web-based materials, dynamic software, virtual manipulatives for representation, screencasting, mobile applications, data representation tools, video, and social media resources will be used to support the teaching and learning of middle and high school mathematics. An emphasis will be placed on the development of learning activities and assessments that can be used in the classroom. New curriculum materials will be developed by the class, and existing resources will be leveraged to provide inquiry based learning opportunities that emphasize reasoning and sense making. Prerequisites: Consent of instructor. (As offered)
