Catalog description

This class focuses on the axiomatic structure of Geometry, including comparison of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries. Classical results of Euclidean geometry are developed in a rigorous way, and transformations are discussed as a way of understanding congruence in Euclidean geometry, with a focus on the properties and relationships among polygons. Constructions and similarity are also discussed. Prerequisites: Math 256 and 236 or a grade of B or better in Math 236. (F)
