Catalog description

Intermediate Japanese I is the first course in a two-semester sequence that develops intercultural communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It also aims to develop knowledge and appreciation towards Japanese culture. The classes are conducted primarily in Japanese. About 80 Chinese characters (kanji) will be introduced. In order to continue on to JAPN 202, C- or higher grade in JAPN 102 is highly recommended. Prerequisite: JAPN 102 or equivalent. (F)
