Catalog description
This course studies the British Empire from the late eighteenth century or "new empire" period until 1947. After the loss of the thirteen North American colonies, Britain embarked upon a new era of empire-building espousing free trade and anti-slavery. The new empire era saw expansion in India, Australia, and Africa. Prerequisite: HIST 102. (As offered)
