Catalog description
This is a sophomore-level history course that outlines the evolution of Japanese culture, religions, political system, and international relations from the beginning to the present. With the use of documentaries and critically acclaimed feature films depicting historical events, this course will provide students with a well-rounded education of Japanese history by bridging two versions of historical narratives, formal classroom presentation of history and cinematic presentation of history.
