Catalog description

This course surveys the World History from pre-historical period to 1500 and traces the origins and development of world civilizations in Eurasia, Africa, and Americas. As a comprehensive coverage of World History from a global perspective, it will focus on two major themes: first, the specifies and individual characteristics of the major world civilizations, as well as the conditions within which they emerged, and second, the history of contacts, interactions, and exchanges between different civilizations during this period, and how encounters of civilizations affected the formation of our common world cultural heritage.
