Catalog description

In this class students will learn techniques for the description and identification of minerals, along with an introduction to basic crystallography and crystal chemistry, stressing the application of these disciplines to minerals and ore deposits. This class includes an extensive laboratory component. Prerequisites GEOL 101 & CHEM 120 or 121 or (CHEM 111 & 116) (or equivalent) or consent of instructor.
