Catalog description
Students will develop a scientific understanding of the atmospheric processes that are responsible for weather events and climatic patterns, including the atmosphere, solar radiation, the earth¿s energy balance, clouds, and the dynamics of wind. We then move to major weather events such as precipitation, mid-latitude cyclones, thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. The course concludes by considering global climate change and the impacts on our existing understanding of weather and climate. (F)
