In this course, students will gain an understanding of the earth as a physical system operating through the interactions of water, atmosphere, the surface of the earth, and biological systems. Topics include maps, the atmosphere and global energy balance, global and local temperature patterns, the water cycle, earth structure, volcanoes and earthquakes, rivers and glaciers, and global climate change.
