Catalog description

This course examines conservation of mass and the control volume, first and second laws of thermodynamics, entropy, and exergy; thermodynamic properties of gases, vapors, and gas-vapor mixtures; analysis of thermodynamic cycles, refrigeration cycles and air-conditioning processes. This course also introduces the Clapeyron equation and Maxwell relations. Prerequisites: GENG 165, MATH 268 (S)
