Catalog description

An examination of how the human body’s structures and functions respond to acute and chronic bouts of exercise. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between regular physical activity and general health. Topics include the history of exercise physiology, neuromuscular, metabolic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and endocrine responses to exercise; the methods for improving exercise performance; and special considerations that are specific to the science of exercise physiology. Prerequisites: HEAL 262 or 263 or BIOL 341 & EXSS 240 or BIOL 342 Offering Term(s): Fall, Spring
