Environmental Analysis

Catalog description
This course examines theories and techniques of environmental monitoring and characterization. Students will have hands-on opportunities to develop technical field and analytical laboratory skills through field research activities and laboratory operating procedure development. Emphasis will be on water, soil and air quality sampling for organic and inorganic pollutants using established protocols for collection of legally defensible data, applicable regulations in risk evaluation, principles of project management, data analysis and reporting. Prerequisites: ESM 105 or GEOL 101 and CHEM 115/215 or above and BIOL 100 or above and MATH 147 or 166. (Sp)
