Catalog description

Students will explore the history of public lands and open spaces in the United States and study the development of attitudes towards the environment, open space, and resource management. The course will address how past and current attitudes have impacted resource management organizations and policies and explore how public lands are managed across the United States. Students will learn about threats to public lands and open spaces and how lands are being utilized and protected for the future. Prerequisites: none. Instructor/chair consent is required. (As offered)
