Catalog description

This course will provide an opportunity for students to explore sustainable urban design. This entails studying the characteristics and features of the built environment that make neighborhoods thriving places across the economic, social, and environmental pillars of sustainability. Students will learn basic principles of urban design and placemaking and how to apply those through policy, practice, and regulations. Students will have the opportunity to see applications of urban design through field trips and site assessment activities. Prerequisites: ESM 151. (As offered)
