Catalog description

Close study of sonnets, histories, tragedies, comedies, and romances. We begin with a unit on the sonnets and short epics, and proceed to exemplary plays in each genre. Special attention is paid to Shakespeare's use of language at the poetic level. Prerequisites: Satisfaction of the General Education CA requirement (usually fulfilled by ENGL 200) and junior standing. (F)
