Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to morphology, semantics, and pragmatics and also contains a brief overview of syntax and phonology. The course examines issues of language use in society and in academic contexts and focuses on the teaching of literacy, reading skills, academic vocabulary, critical reading, and the conventions of academic writing in the field of TESOL. Prerequisites: none. (F, Sp)
