Extended Leadership: Building Community Relations

Catalog description

This course requires candidates to consider the constituents of a school community and how decisions made by the superintendent may affect the employment of constituents, the rhythm of their lives, the care of their children, and/or their finances. Candidates will examine ways to establish on-going relationships of trust and cooperation through local civic organizations and interest groups. Candidates will develop effective communication techniques for keeping constituents informed as well as consensus-building strategies to honor and support competing interests, groups and individuals in the community.
