Apply economic reasoning to analyze the behavior of patients, providers, hospitals, insurers, pharma, and the government in the U.S. health care market. Topics include demand for health care, supply of health care, health insurance market, and public policy reforms. Using the U.S. health care system as a reference point, students will also evaluate the different healthcare systems found in other developed economies. Understanding these topics provides students with a solid foundation to analyze health care issues, problems, and policies. Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in Econ 201 Offering Term(s): Spring, As Offered
