Catalog description

This course introduces students to the interviewing techniques in the fields of social services and corrections. It is designed to ensure students are ready to engage in difficult conversations, with people they do not know well, and in front of large groups of people. Three areas are explored: Risk/Need/Responsivity; Motivational Interviewing; and Cognitive/Behavioral programming. Prerequisites: CRIM 200 and at least junior status or consent of instructor.
