Catalog description

The course examines the criminal justice system's responses to victims in contemporary U.S. society. The course explores the historical, legal, political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics of perceptions of victims and their experiences. Typologies, theories, advocacy, special victims, and policies that pertain to victims are discussed. Prerequisite: CRIM 130 or consent of instructor (As offered).
