Catalog description

This course will provide an introduction to the basic principles of digital hardware and assembly language programming. Topics include: Combinational Circuits, Sequential Circuits, Memory Units (ROM/RAM) and their Basic Architecture, Central Processing Unit and its Architecture, Machine Language, Memory Architectures, Addressing Modes, Data Transfer Instructions, Arithmetic Instructions, Assembler Directives, Input/output Services, Basic Transfer of Control Instructions. Prerequisites: a C or better in CIDS 248. Instructor/chair consent is required. (Sp)
