Introduction to Physical Computing

Catalog description
This course is an introduction to microcontroller programming. Students will learn about the basics of digital electronics, microcontroller programming, and the input-processing-storage-output model of interactive hardware. Students will also learn about version control and collaboration tools and prototyping/design tools. Students will work on a project where they will plan, design, and develop an interactive hardware prototype that addresses a real-world problem/need. Potential projects may include prototypes for autonomous vehicles, musical instruments, security systems, robots, electronic wearables, and many others. Prereq: CIDS 162 (As offered)
