Catalog description

This course is an introduction to inorganic chemistry. Topics covered include atomic structure, periodic trends, molecular symmetry, molecular orbital theory, acid-base theory, coordination chemistry, organometallics, and solid state materials. Visualization of molecules in three dimensions and structure-function relationships are emphasized. A scientific calculator is required. Prerequisite: CHEM 236 or 240 (F)
